Unit 3: Setting "Worlds in Focus"
This 24-week enrichment course explores how setting shapes mood, theme, and character decisions in storytelling. Students will learn to design vivid, believable worlds whether grounded in reality or entirely fantastical and use setting as more than just a backdrop. Through thoughtful world building, they’ll see how time and place influence tone, conflict, and plot direction. The course emphasizes how environment interacts with characters and story arcs, deepening both meaning and impact.

This unit can stand alone as a full-year experience or be paired with the Character (Fall) or Plot (Spring) courses for a complete journey through The Anatomy of a Story.
